I think it's really sweet... an insect that not only shows that degree of devotion to their young but does a single egg at a time?? AND they prey on horseflies the only insect where you feel the bite, not the venom, because they have serrated plates for teeth that saw through flesh ok wait I see it

there are other horse-flies in the burial field, you'll find the right ones for your egg

Wasp nesting is so cool tho. The Ammophila stings a caterpillar in the right places to paralyze it but keep it alive so its larvae can feed. And apparently some species remember up to 9 different nests as well as the relative size of the caterpillars recently delivered to each.

ngl that wasp that lays its eggs inside of tarantulas is WILD

my favorite bug is the death's head moth but not bc of the skull or silence of the lambs
i just like that they do the bee dance to steal honey and they squeak if you touch them
