CNN's article shows that they fact checked the stories of the 4 women who they spoke to, corroborated by other witnesses, screen shots, etc.
One of the women provided CNN a message from Swalwell that he'd sent to her before doing an on air interview on CNN (!) and he was wearing the same clothes.

Dems out of the general. He was leading.He will never win now. So even if it’s all politically fabricated (read the articles, pretty hard to make up all of it), GOP already won. Swalwell is toast. Any hour more that’s spent on defending him is an hour that could go to the next Dem candidate leading.
