okay but I'm not going to lie I also get pissed off as an American when they do this in other countries but not in America

like if your fan base is around the globe release things around the globe.... it's not rocket science

Well no it is rocket science, because so much Bullsh*t goes through the entertainment industry. Its not that easy to market your film out into all theaters globally, especially indie productions. Iron Lung was the first production (to my knowledge) that showed this being really possible and viable.

The one exception I will make to them is it is in your home country and you want to thank everyone who got you started

that is an exception that I can understand.... though you don't need to advertise it everywhere else too
