Ohio got their first Buc-ee’s and Jordan had questions on gas station etiquette.

Is it ok to leave your car at the pump while going inside the Buc-ee’s?

Absolutely not. Go find a parking spot unless you're going in for a piss.

No. Even though they have 200 pumps, that's what the parking spaces are for.

No, dammit, it is not.

I start the fill up, head in, get a drink, and am back out before it’s full. But I’m built different.

I’m gonna put my cigar out in that overflow puddle and run, people like me are always watching

A lot of truckers leave their trucks fueling (and running) to go into a truck stop. So... yes? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you park at the Costco gas station pumps? If so...then by all means do so at Bucs. If not...then you understand.

It depends on how many other cars are filling up at that time.

An F-350 will be parked at a bucees tank for like an hour while people shop for their parents and their grandkids (same plural noun, there are four generations of bucees appreciators in this hypothetical)

No but we do it anyway in Texas.

Leaving my car where it is. Used to be pump and then pay when I started driving, no difference in my book.

The closest I've come to having violence inflicted upon me was when my coworker left a truck and trailer blocking two pumps at the Brunswick Georgia Buc ees and I was the fool who had to move it.

I charge my car at Buc-ee’s whenever I road trip to Florida or Nashville from Atlanta. By the time I go in to pee and get my brisket (and if I’m feeling gluttonous, my banana pudding), car’s charged.

So yes, if you have an EV?

EVs are fundamentally different though. A car gas tank is full after like 2 minutes of pumping gas. EVs take longer to charge. So as long as you aren’t leaving your fully charged car in the charging spot, that’s fine to go inside while charging.

Knowing someone from anywhere in the country (world?) can get mad at you for hogging a pump makes it some real risky behavior...

Leaving your car at the pump if it's anything more than two minutes in and out to hit the head is a violation of the traveler's bushido. Moreso if there's obviously demand for the pumps.

(It should be added i'm actually mostly not a fan of Buc-Ee's on several principles; give me a good QT or Wawa or even a rural Circle K, even if they killed off Flash).

Don't tell the man but I just leave the pump while it's running to go inside. 😲 Multitask.

It's Buc-ee's though, there are 84 pumps

I'm gonna go further Socrates, the only time it's acceptable is when the gas pump says please see cashier for receipt.
