Can we also dispense with the useless "Well if only Netanyahu were replaced..." formulation? The obstacles to meaningful progress go far beyond any one person.

I think the people who cling to that idea want to believe that another Rabin could somehow come along and “right the ship” so to speak.

Only that ship ain’t coming back given how long Likud has been in power along with being ideologically in lock step with Rabin’s assassin.

Exactly. I also don't want to hear about the mass protests, either against the judicial overhaul (and very much NOT against occupation) or for the hostages. There's simply no significant mass of people asking for a change in course re 2SS. Standing Together etc., is good but spitting in the wind.

It’s like believing that the Republican Party will somehow go back to being the party of Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt, or even Eisenhower, if only the right kind of person takes charge of them again and leads them back into not being the party of proud boys.
