Stupid remark, whomever it was. The Taliban were sick theocrats. It was collective defence. Handled well? No. But Dieppe wasn't handled well either, not the point.

Oh shit! Glad you got my point on second viewing, but I should work on my wording if it was that easy to get the opposite impression.

Totally agree it wasn't handled well and, as you point out, just because something is messy doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do.
