how else are you supposed to log in to steam

I played in AoE 3 LAN parties in my first year of college in the 2010s w/o connecting to the internet, but in that instance one of us had our own on-disc copy and we installed from there.

They don't put the full games on discs anymore 😭.

Why do you need to log into Steam?

Gonna be real, if you're playing through the internet, you lose every advantage of trying to have a LAN in the first place beyond the social aspect.
