do we still live in a democratic society? when you can be black bagged and whisked off to a foreign prison without due process and the supreme court reverse engineers legal justifications? when the president disregards congress and courts at his whim? when media bend over backwards to legitimize?

I lost it... I'm so tired of this bullshit faux "leftism" that defines the American left. An impotent bunch of posers, privileged to have only ever understood their grandparents' lives and battles as "stories" from a bygone era. Capitalism sure made the left complacent.

Not talking about you, just talking about the bullshit "I can't believe anyone would suggest violence" pearl clutching, adult-children in the room.

I guess in Columbia's political science department they teach about how Mussolini was defeated using only the power of friendship and kindness, while people peacefully held up signs saying "no more fascism!"

As if anyone needed more proof Columbia should be shut down for good.

What's the old quote? "Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent revolution inevitable". True now as it ever was.

People don’t choose violence for the hell of it; the choice is forced on them when there are no choices left.

One of the hallmarks of US liberalism is accepting the inevitability of state violence while condemning violent opposition to it. As is ignoring the fact that this stance is in strict opposition to the philosophy of the Founders.

chomksy said the same thing about antifa punching nazis backfiring and he was right — but only because liberals allow themselves to be scandalized by antifascist resistance and in turn bolster the regime's propaganda, selling it to the center by bothsidesing nazis and those trying to beat them back.

the right is doing political violence practically every day. dude just pulled an assault rifle on protesters. in the same way trump's behavior's normalized, the political violence of the right is normalized. when the left returns fire, all the moralizing about where we're headed as a country starts.

Ive heard people describe anti facsist groups (that have existed since before ww2 europe) as innoculations against the growth of fascist movements. The problem is, when fascism grows large enough that it is given consideration in the public eye, the public no longer sees the innoculations as a good.
