It sounds crazy, but they really do want to replace as much human thought as possible with their AI. Some because they think it will eventually be superior, some because they want a neo-feudal future with themselves on top, some because of Rokko's Basilisk.

I can only guess that they spend far too much time with one another -- meaning that when everyone you encounter in person or digitally is focused on the same kinds of issues (and proposed solutions) as you, those issues and "solutions" become more real than the person who fixes the leak in your sink
