I don't know about you, but I am constantly sending unsolicited emails to people I don't have a relationship with to congratulate them on their magazine photos, inquire about their travels, and ask them to call me next time they are in town.

Vendors used to give me business cards ALL the time. When I traveled around the U.S., I would drop them into those fishbowls at TGIF, Applebees, etc. for "free lunch for your team". Always wondered if a vendor in Virginia got a call from a Ruby Tuesday in Tulsa with an offer for free lunch...
