only survivors of those who DID work the required number of credits. I'm short by a year, so I get nothing, but I am glad seniors are homeless, starving, and without medical care. For now.

When you turn 65, you are eligible to get SS.
Before that, they look at how many points you have collected. You need 40 to get 100%
They base what you get on the number of points you have.
Luckily, when I had to go on SS for disability, I had 40 points. My career was cut short by 20 years!😒

I don't get any at all. I think I have 34. I have CSRS for now.
