I should have figured this out earlier, but I just learned that it doesn't matter what text follows the minus sign. My finger slipped and it was -AK instead of -AI. Worked fine! -slithytoves worked. -boopitydoo worked. So it's straightforward to search AI as a subject without AI interference.
