Again, I'm compelled to say that several years ago I wrote a piece for the NYT about me and my dad's shared love of Enya. In it, I mentioned that her music has been known to bring my father to tears and the fact-checking was so rigorous that they called my own dad - twice - to ask if this was true.

This is glorious. I should add my dad DENIED crying to Enya, prompting me to remind him of several occasions - her version of 'How Can I Keep From Singing?' being a repeat offender.

'Ah' said he, suddenly recalling perfectly, 'should I call them back'.

'They'll call you', said I. And they did!

We posted our engagement announcement in the NYT because my in laws were NYers and we thought they'd be pleased. They edited my bio to take out "guest star" from a TV show I was on multiple times bcuz all my scenes had less than 5 lines.

They fact checked my glorified extra work.
