Ironically, I joined BlueSky to have a back-up of information I had posted on Twitter in case I was banned from there. In the end, it was BlueSky who banned me. I now have to spend my time saving I anything of value that I posted here and not elsewhere.

You’re not alone in archiving your work.

I recommend everyone to create a Mastodon account. It’s not owned by any tech bros. I love the information I get from BlueSky users but I can tell the admin suppresses posts on ICE abductions, wars, and other atrocities. (P.S. love your work!)

Since it’s not common knowledge - Bluesky is on a network they don’t control, just this part. Similar to mastodon but more flexible and interlinked regardless of media type.

Tl:dr - if you like this experience you can keep it - and your bsky followers - and while still ditching bsky and its mods

Just switch PDS hosts or run your own. Won’t stop bsky mod actions at the AppView level but will mean you wont lose your data if that happens. Here’s a list of open PDS hosts for reference - blog.indexx.dev/3lz3kftpf4k25?auth_completed=true&interactionDrawer=comments

Save everything, in your own storage!

Neither Bluesky or Twitter is a backup facility!

tbh this made my blood run cold.

Don’t trust a media site to save your work!

You WILL lose it the moment they change some policy

Don’t work too hard on that. You can *always* move your posts and identifier to another service and your followers will still see them. Bluesky may suck as an org, but the network is open and anyone can use it for their own apps.

You were banned by BlueSky?
You’re one of the most honest, intelligent and interesting people on social media 🤦‍♀️

Well the former Twitter employee who oversaw your suspension is too busy liking pornbots to do his job.

@lukesteuber.com is a friend of mine on this platform and he made a tool that can export your account easily

I disagree with you that your post was innocuous, but concede the framing and timing of the ban is simply wrong

I try not to say things like “I will” followed by a harm verb

It may not look innocuous to you, but to most Americans who know who Johnny Cash is, it was.

If that’s your take away maybe Facebook is more up your alley.

Honestly Sarah, as a merciless backuper, I would do all of your social media including BS if I were you. And I do mean BS.

"Someone's always watching, Mr. Mulder."

Welcome back :)

Glad you're back. I write substantive social media posts in Word and then copy and paste them into wherever I'm posting them.

It's a less distracting way to compose stuff, and better for saving & re-using words, but impractical for saving words with posting context and responses (w/ I don't do).

Has BlueSky banned the movie Fargo yet?

I should write a script to grab them.

I was suspended right before the Epstein emails were released. If the BlueSky search engine works, you will find a wealth of posts from me about the people in those emails, who I wrote about in my books HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT and THEY KNEW. This is the work I feared would be erased on Twitter.

This was my immediate thought. it sure is suspicious.

I'm angry because none of the new information was required to know Trump is a serial abuser.

The files are the knife in the back to kill Trump and the old order and let Vance/Theil, new money take over. That's the only way they ever come out.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm disappointed, in Bluesky for doing this to you. I will now be following. I hadn't hear of you until now. I guess Bsky did you a favor, they put you in the spotlight. Now more people will read your story and follow you.

The best defense against rumors and false allegations are my own words. I stand by my words.

It is impossible to do stand by one's words when someone deletes them and then rewrites them – which is what the BlueSky administrators did.

they're gonna have to do a 'they knew, too' for the unredacted #epsteinfiles

We used to copy & paste & 📫 things to our super secret website to have a record of the ongoing online insanity, but that site went away after both owners died & now their daughter Nefarious carries the data around in her teenage 🎒 & our entire digital life of 3 decades consists of 3 lost hard-drives

Are you aware you can download your entire Twitter-archive, on request?

Better yet, you can even import such archives into BlueSky, with each message containing the original/backdated timestamp.
(haven't tried myself yet)
(did try convincing some other folks, like XianJaneway's Evangelicals thread)

Just ordered paper copies of your books, in case my Kindle decides to erase you. Thank you for working so hard to tell the truth.

Reminder: I encourage everyone to secure your server and handle of choice for #Mastodon in advance of the eventual downfall of #Bluesky.

(It can be confusing at first, just ask the internet how to find a server, etc.)

For the #vegans, I strongly recommend veganism.social.
