Oh and that kid who got those books and that letter from Dolly 14 years ago? He's studying environmental science at an excellent college on an academic scholarship, and he grew up to be one of the funniest, kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever known. We're all very proud.

My kiddo received Imagination Library books as well, and he still has them (albeit, he graduated out of the program recently). Super mad that both Indiana and the state of Washington no longer have the programs due to underfunding/ budget shortfalls.

Funding in our area ran out right after our second child was born - but we still had all the books her big brother got!
