I'm ngl I'm not really surprised the author of a series that regularly depicts how painful it can be when your body changes especially when it's not necessarily something you want, would be an ally 🏳️⚧️
even better, her husband (with her in the photo) is fellow author Michael Grant who has also long been an absolute badass in loudly supporting trans people, in part because their daughter is trans. both of them absolutely rock
She's great. The books end on kind of a downer instead of a climactic Hollywood victory, and when fans complained she was like, "Yeah, war sucks, maybe keep that in mind when you're old enough to vote."
If you ever get a chance you should look up her explaining why she ended the series on a non ending that was kind of a bummer for almost everyone involved, she rocks.
This is an individual who wrote a book series for kids about people that change their bodies, struggle with living with a secret that puts them in danger and experience the occasional identity crisis, acting exactly like a person who did that. Certain other children's authors could learn something.
