Never lie to an Article III judge, especially a Supreme Court Justice. They always find out, and they treat you only with derision if you are lucky. If you are unlucky, the punishment is worse.

Ironically, some of the current SCOTUS Justices routinely lie from the bench, in judicial opinions, and in interviews with mass media, and none of the Justices suffer any concrete consequences, except losing the respect of the few people paying attention.
