I'm in no way trying to say the US isn't particularly terrible (it is)

My point is more that trying to go "oh but it's just the US" actively turns a blind eye to the bigotry going on elsewhere, and therefore impedes progress with organizing + enacting change

oh certainly, i'm in the Netherlands myself but i have already contacted paypal (took several messages to get past their AI customer service) emailed Mastercard, emailed Visa, AND i contacted my bank to express my worry over them recently switching from Maestro/V pay to Mastercard/Visa
