Highlighting this public meeting to address the decision taken by Reform UKโ€™s Durham Council to cancel this bypass.

It was ready to go, all they needed to do was use agreed local government funding. Instead, they cancelled the bypass.

Where has the funding gone?

Hopefully potentially Reform voters in Sunderland will take note. There's lots of transformative regeneration going on in the city. Stuff that has taken decades of land acquisition, planning and fundraising. Any and all could be stopped in an afternoon for 'reasons'.

It will be classified as โ€œsavingsโ€

Obvious that once they get power they do nothing for their constituents.

Imagine that for the whole country?

Frightening.

This would be a Reform led government, chronic under investment but massive increases in spending on prisons, detention centres etc ....oh and of course, tax cuts for the wealthy, good ol trickle down economics will return big time.

That's Nottinghamshire, where we didn't raise the council tax by the maximum we could. But we are complaining to central government that they should give us more to fix the roads.

Interesting how the 'R' word is buried at the very bottom.
