.... Anyway I love Final Fantasy XIV and think its healthy to take breaks and/or to stop playing it all together if you're not having fun. MMO burnout is real and can affect one's outlook on a game very easily. ❤️

I took a 2 month break to take time to do other things outside of the game. Plus been busy with irl around that time. But getting back into it after Fanfest announcements plus patch day coming up soon.

HELL YEAAAAAH!
I've been enjoying other games in my spare time between patches, and its been refreshing not having that Pressure to play One Game Only. :D

ALSO DID YOU MANAGE TO GET TICKETS FOR FANFEST? 👀

Yeah, MMOs can turn into a feeling of obligation. Had a buddy who we started playing a MMO together, he stopped logging in regularly

When we talked he said he wasn't having fun with it anymore. I told him, its a game you play to have fun. If you aren't having fun, why are you playing the game?

I was still having a blast in the game and he had stayed almost out of obligation to me, because we were both so excited about the game at launch. And the feeling of I'm paying a sub, so I HAVE to play

The idea that he could just quit was almost a revelation to him

That makes sense because, you want the game to be enjoyable and fun. You don’t want it to become a chore. I’m a bit old school, my favorite Final Fantasy games were 3 and 7.

I love FFXIV alot. And I still happily talk with my friends when it comes up as a topic.
But as of rn. My interest to PLAY it... is not really there.

I just got bored of it (and hey... SE is literally like "Oh yeh take a break. We keep ur stuff safe (except your house)."
