They are all tech, finance and marketing types who roleplay “eccentric genius” because that is the current revenue-maximizing costume.

It’s like some middle school kid cast as Einstein in the school play being taken seriously when they make grand pronouncements about the future of physics.

I think its all the result of the common belief that intelligence is always tied to wealth. Musk and Trump both proved that that is not always the case.

This is why I have pushed back for years on the notion that Elon is a genius in tech or anything else. He has no ideas and doesn't want to do any of the work of thinking. He lacks any of the traits that geniuses share.

Money is not a substitute for intelligence or curiosity.
