Is seven-layer jello considered a German thing? I looked it up and I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've seen or heard of this, so I'm curious

I can't speak for actual Germany, but I can speak for small rural Canadian Lutheran communities where everyone has generational trauma from the great depression and our heritage includes the gelatinous horrors (I love pink salad but cannot deny the jello powder within) and the Salted Hog.

In the country now known as Trumpistan, jello is a staple in the Midwest. But I think of it as much Methodist as Evangelisch.

Interesting, cause I am German and haven't come across anything remotely close to those jello recipes. Though that could ofc always be a regional thing as well
