Linux is a phenomenal hub for FOSS but using it myself and the new things to learn makes me realize that linux will probably never see mainstream adoption cause of how weird its userbase is about unifying on any specific thing

Valve disagrees.
Don't be deceived by a vocal minority.

like rpcs3 and duckstation especially having the most annoying linux users cause people dont like appimages and prefer flatpaks and get angry at the developers upstream due to downstream issues caused by different distros and what they provide

idk i heard more duckstation hate over stenzek doing poor management than how he
likes to package his product (yes its a product)
cuz years ago he got all the contributors to agree to change the license into CREATIVE COMMONS ATTRIBUTION NO DERIVATIVES that defeats all the purpose of open source

and also how closed source software is seen as almost kind of a sin on linux in general like wanting to feel superior over the people who use chrome or opera gx when that recently got ported over

I get hissed at from the arch community for using flatpaks instead of using the aur.

I'm sorry but like the aur can be an enemy rather than a friend
