Over 15 GW was added over that period:
- 7.7 GW of new wind
- 7.6 GW of new solar

The cost of gas has risen by 42% in the first four weeks of the latest fossil fuel crisis.

However, the added wind and solar capacity since 2021 has cut gas generation by 39%, insulating the system from the worst impacts of the price hikes.
