The advertising culture in the US is just beyond comprehension for anyone outside of US.
I remember watching TV in the US in the 1990's and I was shocked by how frequent, long and misplaced the ad breaks were. Made it impossible to enjoy anything in TV. It seems the tradition is going on.

My personal favs are the ones for medications that treat the side effects of other medications. Then they legally have to list the side effects of the new medication at the end and it’s like “may cause death, murderous rage, blindness, and in rare instances euphoria. Talk to your doctor.”
