It was always Israel’s war. Bibi knew he could entice Trump to join him, thus initially strengthening Israel’s war resources and giving Trump an ally in his quest for oil and notoriety. We made so many mistakes that a ceasefire with the US backs us out, but Israel has its own agenda.
