It came out pretty well, so next up was masking. Lots of masking! This was so I could apply the gold areas. First idea was to use Alclad Gold paint. Same make as the chrome and looked amazing - but it was the wrong shade. It would be perfect for High Elven armour though

Do I remasked the whole thing (😭). And did a couple of blink-and-you'll-miss-it passes with a cheap brassy gold spraypaint. Just enough to give it some contrast.

The last bit I managed before going back to work was some leather for the back. I thought about trying to paint a leather effect, but I had some scraps lying around and thought I should use the real thing. Once home I'll be tidying the flaps up and adding the plume.
