It’s not a stereotype. It’s a fact of life. If grandpa loses his faculties, if he can, sadly, no longer make rational decisions - you simply don’t let him drive your children to school. I am 69 years old. This is not “ageist.” It is the reality that is heartbreaking but cannot be denied.

Try it. It’s illegal to take away a license or keys and it doesn’t stop them. People have rights.

I don’t let teenagers drive my kids either. Just stop the BS. Even using the word grandpa shows where you are.
