I was in my 50's the 1st time I saw lenticular clouds. We drove thru northern New Mexico and we were shocked! We didn't even know they were clouds. There were dozens of them. As soon as we got phone signal I looked them up. Since then I have only seen 1 or 2 over a mountain west of PHX. Amazing!

They are super cool. I have seen them several times in Tucson. They are also frequent above Mount Rainier, outside of Seattle.

From what I read over mountains is where they are usually seen. Dozens and dozens, of varying sizes and heights can be eerie!
