Yes, though there have been false allegations brought in rare cases, they were typically easily disproved. We seem to trust the words of children more than adult women in these types of cases.

There was a college football player in jail for years because a woman lied. Prove to me that they are rare with facts not just conjecture

Read the CPS stats. False accusations are rare.

This isn't rocket science or even remotely controversial to anyone who isn't a misogynist.

A man is more likely to be raped than falsely accused of rape.

And she should be punished for it, no doubt about that. We can even NAME the case.

That being said, real statistics are:

"98% of perpetrators walk free",
"1 in 3 victims report",
"80% of female college students do not report to the police", etc.

Facts?

About 2% of all criminal allegations are false.

Including rape.

However rape has a conviction rate of Only 2%.

Lower than all other crimes.
And no one lies more about rape than rapists.

If it's the same case I'm thinking of, the guy was a poor Black kid with a public defender who told him--bizarrely, despite the low odds of conviction--to take a plea bargain. There was never a trial for him to walk free from.

You might want to dig a little deeper to see if what you said is true. I read stories all the time of people being released from prison, after serving 30-40 years for r***s they didnโ€™t commit. Itโ€™s not as easily disproven as you seem to think.

I observe that those are usually black men who are accused of murder and given a poor defense.

black men and women are routinely let down by our justice system. don't confuse the two.

Having worked in domestic violence for 15 years, I have worked with thousands of victims and separately with perpetrators.
I only came across one case where the perpetrator was a female.
As for false allegations re sexual abuse - the figure quoted in a research article was that something like 98%

of accusations are true.

Don't take my word for how it works.
Ask a woman.

I get what you are saying. Hubby is a professor and had a student file a complaint against him for sexual harassment. The university investigated, determined the student was lying, and punted her from school. In this case, she lied. Good thing hubby wasn't fired at the drop of a hat.

It happens.
