I’m both! Lived on the western slope of Sierra Nevada mountains most of my life. Miss Desolate Wilderness & swimming in those alpine lakes in the summer. I moved up to the coast after the Caldor Fire.

Hope you get back to the mountains soon!
Late spring is best now because of wildfires.

I had three favorite destinations, and I kept returning on weekend-to-weekend trips: Lake Washburn in Yosemite, Tehipite Valley in Kings Canyon (from the national forest), and the Upper Kern River in Sequoia (where Rattlesnake Creek from Franklin Pass hits the river [my profile photo just north]).

Thanks for the good wishes, but if I ever go back in it'll be on horseback, due to problems with my right knee and to claudication in my legs (at close to 83).

You can go on a horseback trip at Yosemite. I’ve always wanted to do that.
All the best with the legs. Sounds like they took you to some wonderful places.

For something like ten years, I made a Memorial Day weekend trip to Lake Washburn, tacking two vacation days onto the three-day weekend (driving up Wednesday night, hiking all the way in Thursday, ahead of other people, who didn't get that far, and all the way out Monday into a "zoo" in the Valley).

I forgot to mention that I once rode the skunk train with my young sons.
