Yeah, there's definitely been an increase in hostility towards black, trans and immigrant folk, and that's horrible, but the reason why I feel it's not as bad today is cuz there's a lot more people going out of their way to stand up for and be kind to marginalised folk...

That's something that I don't remember being around, like, AT ALL back in 2014 when the whole G*merg*te thing was going around, back then the internet felt SO F@#%ing">#%ing">@#%ing hostile to all women that I felt the need to hide my gender out of fear, and even then I still got threats...

You've got a great point there, and I'm so sorry you experienced that.
I was still closeted at the time, but I do remember, it's one of the reasons why I didn't come out until like two years ago.

The time i'm referring to is even before that, since I've been on the net since the '01-02.
