We make fun of these guys’ intellect because that is a pig ignorant thing to say, and they are always saying shit like that.

But it is also evidence a profound moral failure. The inability to conceive of anyone outside of their time, place, and circumstances as fully human.

These people are living in a world where they’re orders of magnitude more wealthy than the rest of us, and yet they spout completely ignorant stuff and it doesn’t really matter. It just makes me want to tax them more so they can’t hurt our country more than they already have.

I honestly get scared/depressed when people say things like that; as you say it’s a complete ethical failure — no empathy, guilt, regret etc.
