This is a terrifyingly fascist outcome that not many people are talking about. A Texas court, a jury selected in secret, a judge citing Waco against protestors, found anti-ICE protestors guilty of all the insane charges including providing material support to terrorists

This was one of dozens of attempts by the Trump regime to stretch the law past its breaking point to make a harsh example of dissenters. 9 out of 10 of those cases have been embarrassingly dismissed but one found a friendly court willing to entertain its most egregious excesses

One individual went into the woods and took a potshot at a cop, so the court dutifully threw everything the Trump regime asked for at the people they rounded up to make examples of. This is how easy it has ALWAYS been for the court system to fail to hold up as a bulwark against fascism.

The state will always criminalize solidarity with the oppressed. Calling protestors "terrorists" while ICE runs concentration camps — the ruling class protects its machinery of exploitation, never the people.

I have to disagree with this take. For all that the Trump administration is awful, the "secret jury selection" is standard procedure, and one of these people DID shoot first. I disagree with some of these convictions, but not all.
