I agree with you on this, but with respect, for a public figure, your post needs more nuance. What is legal vs moral for example. It's complicated

NATO is a defensive alliance, not an offensive one.
Trump never told NATO he was attacking Iran.
Trump never asked NATO for help.
Trump threatened to seize Greenland — a territory of a NATO ally — violating US and international law.

Then he complains they didn’t help.
