Rump is too stupid and ignorant to understand this.
You wouldn’t say this, but I can.

I don't think any of America's allies will be very interested in keeping the U.S. within NATO in a year or two. Right now we still need them to supply the weapons that WE pay for to support Ukraine. But Trump is a kind of 'never again' experience

If they let Donald Trump bring it down then they had a problem in the first place then. I don’t know why anybody listens to Donald Trump. They must be totally weak and crazy too.

One way of dealing with a tyrant is to continue making sensible recommendations well within youtr field of expertise, and well outside theirs. Its creates a little bubble of clarity within the chaos they create.

Sir, when you say things like that, you have to be ready for people to counter your argument by pointing to the illegal 1999 Kosovo intervention by NATO. I agree with you on this, but with respect, for a public figure, your post needs more nuance. What is legal vs moral for example. It's complicated

NATO is a defensive alliance, not an offensive one.
Trump never told NATO he was attacking Iran.
Trump never asked NATO for help.
Trump threatened to seize Greenland — a territory of a NATO ally — violating US and international law.

Then he complains they didn’t help.
