Columbia suspended, expelled, and retroactively revoked degrees in proceedings that were so arbitrary and capricious they were overturned by a NY state judge. Literally the only evidence Columbia submitted came from sealed records of dismissed arrests—records that Columbia shouldn't have even had.

My alma mater pulled the same shit over a literal picnic with prayer circles going kumbaya. They shot Jewish students in the face with the 40mm to "stop antisemitism".

Campus still sealed off to anyone w/o Columbia ID, which is starting to seem permanent (and completely illegal).

How is it illegal?

I love the fact that there wasn’t a single value that they wouldn’t compromise on in order to keep Zionist donors happy.

Even better was pathetically capitulating to the Trump admin and still losing tons of federal funds anyway.

Leadership showed they were complete sniveling cowards in every way

Well, that certainly casts a new light on the posts from (presumably) college students I've seen this morning claiming they don't want to protest anymore because of how their schools might retaliate.

They didn't stop protesting, they just took it off campus and started working with other movements. This happens a lot in organizing, feminists pretty much did the same thing after MeToo died.

If you stay in the game long enough, you'll eventually come to use intersectionality as your main basis

And despite all of that, they're still fighting, which is what the Bulwark really seems to ignore: www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2025/06/14/protesters-gather-at-columbia-gates-for-nationwide-no-kings-protests/

They joined No Kings, because of course they did. The campus protest movement helped set the stage for all we have now, and that should be obvious.

That’s literally in the Bulwark article. Did you read it or are you just assuming from the headline?

People should be more open to blame the board quickly. Ackman and company share a lot of blame for this.

It's like, bitch: if you didn't want the country to look to friggin' *college students* for leadership, maybe you should've held your reps (and other grown ass adults with jobs and shit) accountable for leading!

Man, I heard *a lot* of free speech warriors and libertarian conservatives were *really* worried about how unfair it was that sexual harassment and sexual assault proceedings had insufficient due process. Wonder if they'll chime in here?!

sick how they were working with authorities.

but columbia's betrayal of modern protests is seen throughout boomers who "stood up" in the 60's but tut-tut protestors of today for no other reason than they are the ones that are comfortable now

And people treated them with sympathy when they were one of the first universities to “capitulate”. They didn’t capitulate, they collaborated, and the life lesson here is no one should go there for an education.
