Perhaps the biggest impact of Trump/Project 2025 on US science is their attacks on scientific integrity. They are corrupting a free and fair marketplace of ideas by using money and power to create bias.

They elevate fringe scientific ideas in the name of “academic freedom.” But that’s a lie.

True academic freedom is when individuals are free to pursue their own work and the best ideas win by persuading their colleagues.
(Banning some words while elevating others is the opposite of freedom.)
