Visited Pompeii as a 12 yo kid when we were living in Milan. It was, of ALL the places we saw while living in Italy, the MOST impactful on me. To this day I remember everything about that visit. Venice = stinks like sewage, Pisa = too tall for me (used to be able to go to the top), Pompeii = WOW!
