That's how they are in iowa. They've always been bigger city, slightly upper scale, usually in a mall until those began to die. Now they're in suburb cities, planted right across from Walmart.

There's never been one in the "city" where family is from, only Walmart that killed a Kmart in the 80s.

And I say "city" because it's still a large town for Iowa, but apparently still considered a small town because it's less than 15,000? Idk it's the closest Walmart for miles so it's a freaking city to me lol.

It's funny about LA because Target and Walmart aren't really a thing here. The closest Walmart and Target is a 30 minute drive away. I can get what I need at the Ralphs store a mile away.
