Brexit carpetbagger Republican Steve Hilton wants to run California. 😬

Not only does he want to import anti-family austerity, he doesn't even want to OBEY THE LAW.

He's so reckless, his colleagues were happy his ideas never got off the ground.

He's BAD for CA.

California gets a bad rap because the GOP has been relentless on their attacks for decades. What people are failing to see is that the CA economy is tops as shown by how many companies are HQ’ed there and how self-sustaining they are and have been as a state. Hilton would not be a good fit as Gov.

California has the fourth largest economy in the world. If we weren't a donor state dragging the welfare red states along we would be doing even better.
Hilton would be Trump West as a governor. No way.

Steer well clear of him. He helped ruin UK and still thinks he’s the smartest cat on the block!

It's ironic that when I made a post about Tom Steyer running for governor of California, the first comment I got was "I don't need another billionaire to run my state." Who do they think Steve Hilton is? He might not be a billionaire, but he is certainly backed by them.

Scrapping maternity leave: what a concept. A lot of women, before they try for pregnancy, contemplate how they're going to make it work, and maternity leave is a key component. So they lose their jobs if they have late-pregnancy complications or need time to recover from delivery?

Republicans are all-in these days for increasing the birth rate, yet Hilton, like so many, ignores or can't understand the real-world considerations of real women and couples when it comes to procreating.

Republicans are ok with scapping maternity leave because they are trying to get back to the 1950s, when women stayed home with the children and had dinner on the table at 6

I find it difficult to rationalize how people get by in US with the dynamics that seem to exist. I assume if I lived there for a time depending on the region I would recognize supports that exist. Its confusing looking from outside. But its big place, lotta people and thats probably a factor.
