The bean-counter answer is to increase a team size rather than accept that it will just take longer with the team you have. Most of the issues with these platforms is the time it takes from work to properly use them. SO instead of 100% time on work you are doing 70% on work and 30% documenting work.

💯 Unfortunately I work in a government agency, so they're not especially concerned about efficiency while being very, very concerned about reporting. Everything you're describing as a negative is how we are currently working.
