We're ~5 years away from being able to make an EV with 1000 miles of range, which would be silly, instead we'll just make it lighter and 500 miles. But we could! There is NO dimension on which ICE vehicles are better, even today.

Light, cheap and not full of awful fluids that cost us bajillions to dispose of safely.
And even now you put the batteries in a big chompa-chompa machine and all the good stuff comes (eventually) out the other end.
