Why are gas prices so high if we have soooooooooo much oil!!! Shouldn’t we save it for ourselves in case the Strait is closed indefinitely because of trumps senseless war?!! I see a gas shortage in our future if we export too much.

It won't do us any good in its current form. It has to be refined first and we don't have that capability. It truly is a global market.

It's a global market. Oil companies want to make the most money possible because they are required to by their fiduciary duty to shareholders.

Blocking exports would just cause mass unrest globally which eventually ends up costing you in other ways. The US is a net importer of most things.
