Totally agree. We've had our solar and battery here for almost 2 years. In the first year alone our total energy costs, including charging our EV, was $952.00.
Our aircon was on for that entire time too.

That's amazing. I didn't get a battery as I couldn't afford it at the time, but still the saving's I've made over the roughly 12 years I've had them have been hugely helpful on a retirement income - especially now that I'm living alone.

The only reason we were able to was relocating from Welly to Chch and downsizing our house. It cost us $26k, but we've realistically saved $5k that first year alone.

Giving govt subsidies to increase solar capacity is a no brainer... unless, of course, the govt of the day answers to donors, not NZ
