As something of a wine nerd - I obsess about a single hill in Piedmont - I would love to hear more about the "Gascon wine trade 1152-1453" (and how that research came about?)

It's remarkable that this trade is so little known,. David. It was hugely important economically and political in medieval England--second only the wool trade, in fact---and it completely dominated the economy of Aquitaine. It made possible, and sustained, the Angevin empire.
