Pretty much...but the upside is, investments in clean energy is skyrocketing...and the Gulf States are planning pipelines 'downstream' from the Straits.

Iran will not be ruling the world any time soon...

Will it even make sense to do the latter in the light of the former? IF this FINALLY knocks us from the current, light-orange line (leading to ~2.7C in 2100) to ~2C dark blue line (~1.5C light blue is virtually impossible now), emissions fall to almost nothing ~2070. New pipelines = stranded assets.
