It's so crazy to see so many politicians running terrified away from even hinting at saying this very simple, very obvious, extremely popular thing, which also happens to be a clear moral imperative.

I agree with you, I’d only quibble with the “extremely” popular part. Polls I’ve seen are around even or maybe +5 at most for abolishing it (that might change of course!). Doesn’t mean I don’t completely agree with your conclusion
