Incredible needle-threading here where Palmisano does not commit either way whether Frey's "veto" equates to Barnette's re-appointment.

I have an email in to her office asking her to clarify her position here.

Another possibility, of course, is that Mayor Frey might flip one of the council members (most likely, Vice President Jamal Osman (W6)) and get Barnette approved on a new approval vote.
