One thing I didn't know is the parents in Wong Kim Ark returned to China and considered their primary allegiance to China. If allegiance of the parents is necessary to transmit birthright citizenship, then Trump is saying Wong Kim Ark should be overturned. I think Roberts called that out.

Sauer is still desperately thing to tie domicile, allegiance, and jurisdiction together. His logic is openly that "subject to the jursdiction of" requires complete allegiance, and you can't show allegiance without acquiring domicile.

I mean that gets so incredibly vague. When my grandparents moved from Vancouver to Berkeley for a job, they didn’t know it was permanent. They eventually became US citizens but my uncle was born before that.
