Like sure, the housemaids are mostly (but not exclusively) Black, and the wives/kids are mostly (but not exclusively) white, but there’s never any racialized talk of valuing certain girls over others, and only superficial ideas of colorism explored solely though casting but not explicitly.

There is absolutely nothing Christian about Giliad. It’s sick and cruel control. I binged the first 3 last night. Excellent, but it definitely doesn’t follow the book. Got me puzzled a bit.
